besides techniques (18 seizing hands/monks boxing), I believe one needs to do:

Body Conditioning:
1. Twisted stance transition-wood (3x)
2. V-ups (5x)
3. 5 push ups
4. Fingers to toes
5. Crane stance balance (1 min.)

Basics:
Variation stances:
1. Crane
2. High, medium, low cat stance
3. Cross stance
4. Twisted stance
5. Crooked Horse
6. Archer's stance
7. Kneeling stance
8. Standing lotus
9. Hook knee
10. Floating fish

By the way, I don't know if you've mentioned this, but I believe when I tested, I had to memorize which element each basic stance is associated with.
